According to the 43rd BCS circular for the appointment of cadre officers in government service, the application is to be received by January 31. However, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has requested the Public Service Commission (PSC) to extend the deadline for the application till March 31 due to the demands of the vice-chancellors of the public universities.
In a letter signed by the secretary on behalf of UGC along with the PSC chairman on Thursday, it was requested to consider extending the deadline for submission of applications for the 43rd BCS examination till March 31, 2021.
Due to the global pandemic coronavirus, all educational institutions in the country have been closed since March 18, 2020, as per the government’s instructions. In this situation, it was not possible to take the final examination of the semester at the undergraduate and postgraduate level in the universities at the scheduled time.
In this regard, a meeting was held on 13 December with the Vice-Chancellors of public universities under the chairmanship of UGC Chairman. At the meeting, it was decided to accept the final examination hygiene rules of the undergraduate and postgraduate semesters of the university. At the meeting, the Vice-Chancellors requested the Commission to take steps on behalf of the universities to extend the application time for the BCS examination. The Commission also agreed with the proposal of the universities due to the Corona situation.
Earlier, the Public Service Commission (PSC) issued a circular on the 43rd BCS in December. One thousand 614 officers in different cadres will be taken in the 43rd general BCS.
According to the circular, the application process for the 43rd BCS will start from 10 am on December 30. It will end on January 31, 2021 at 7 pm. Now this time may be extended.
According to the Ministry of Public Administration, 300 people in administration cadre, 100 people in police cadre, 25 people in foreign cadre, 643 people in education cadre, 353 people in education cadre, 35 people in audit, 19 people in tax, 14 people in customs, 20 people in cooperatives and 65 dental surgeons through 43rd General BCS. 363 people may be recruited in John and other cadres.
