General Eligibility for Honors Professional Admission Application
- Minimum GPA of 3.00 in Science and Business Administration, GPA of 2.50 in Humanities and 4th subject separately in HSC Examination of 2020/2021/2022 from any Education Board/Open University recognized in Bangladesh in SSC Examination 2018/2019/2020 Candidates who obtained 2.50 can apply for this admission process.
- Only candidates who have passed i) HSC (Vocational) i) HSC, (Business Management) ii) Diploma-in-Commerce examination from HSC equivalent courses of Bangladesh Technical Education Board can apply for this admission process.
- Eligible courses will be determined from the subjects studied in the higher secondary/equivalent examination of the candidates. A minimum grade point of 3.0 (out of 200 marks) should be obtained in the said subject.
- Candidates who have passed at least 04 (four) subjects with ‘B’ grade in three subjects in O-Level Examination 2018/2019/2020 and at least 02 (two) subjects with ‘B’ grade in one subject in A-Level Examination 2020/2021/2022 Candidates can apply for this admission program but they have to fulfill all other conditions of the admission guidelines. All these candidates should submit the application form by contacting the Dean, School of Undergraduate Education, National University directly.
- In the case of candidates with foreign certificates, they can also apply for initial admission if their secondary and higher secondary level mark sheets are verified by any education board recognized in Bangladesh. Candidates with foreign certificates must fulfill all other conditions of the admission guidelines in case of application. All these candidates should submit the application form by contacting the Dean, Faculty of Undergraduate Education, National University directly.
- No student currently studying (obtained registration card) in Graduate (Honours), Graduate (Honours) Professional and Graduate (Pass) regular/private courses under the National University in the academic year 2021-22 will not be able to take admission in the Graduate (Honours) Professional course in the academic year 2022-2023. However, the admission of the previous academic year can be canceled in the academic year 2022-2023 for admission to the graduate (honours) professional course.
- If a candidate takes dual admission in Bachelor (Honours), Bachelor (Honours) Professional and Bachelor (Pass) Regular/Private courses in the same or two different academic years, both his admissions will be considered cancelled.
Honours 1st year admission 2023 Admission Procedure, Mark Distribution
- The merit list will be prepared separately for each college and candidates will be allotted courses in the 1st year graduation (honours) professional admission program according to their preference.
- If two or more applicants in the same course in the same institution/college have the same merit rank, then 40% and 60% respectively of the GPA obtained in the SSC and HSC examination including the 4th subject of all these applicants respectively .
- 40% and 60% respectively of the total marks obtained in the SSC and HSC examination if applicable.
- If after this the merit order of two or more applicants is the same, then the merit order shall be drawn giving priority to the one who is younger.
- This admission process will be completed through first merit list, second merit list subject to vacant seats, special quota and release slip (multiple times if necessary).
Applicant’s initial application form
- The applicant should go to the Professional tab of the admission website (www.nu.ac.bd/admissions) and click on the Apply Now (Hons. Professional) option and in the information table displayed on the website, the roll number of secondary and higher secondary/equivalent examination, registration number, education Board/University and Pass Year must be entered correctly.
- According to the information stored in the database, if Male is displayed instead of Male or Male instead of Female in the information table of the applicant, the correct information should be entered by going to the Click to Change option.
- At this stage, the applicant will see the list of eligible courses. If the applicant selects the name of any college according to his choice, the department and district will see the name and number of seats of the 1st year graduate (honours) professional class admission courses in the respective college. From this list the candidate should carefully decide the order of his/her applied course.
- Candidates who wish to take admission in the child of freedom fighter/tribal/handicapped/preferred quota should select the quota applicable to them in the specified place in the information table. Quota application should have original certificate issued by appropriate authority. If a candidate qualifies in one or more quotas then quota preference should be determined.
- At the time of filling the form, the applicant has to scan and upload a recent color photograph in the form of a passport. The image size will be 120×150 pixels, Image Type: jpg and maximum file size: 50Kb, National University authorities reserve the right to cancel the admission of the candidate if any other image is uploaded in the initial application form.
- Fill the table with correct information and picture and click on Submit Application option. At this stage the applicant’s rail number and pin code will be displayed and the applicant should download the form [A4 (8.5”×11) offset white paper and take a print.
Correction of errors in online filled application form
- Before submitting the application form to the concerned college, the candidate will verify his initial application form. If there is any informational discrepancy or defective image in the application form, it should be corrected. To modify the application form, the candidate has to go to the Professional Login link in the Applicant Login option and enter the application form’s rail number and pin. At this stage the applicant has to go to the Form Cancel/Photo Change Option and click the Click to Generate the Security key option.
- At this time the candidate will receive One Time Password (OTP) through SMS on the personal mobile number mentioned in his application form. With this OTP entry the student can cancel his/her application form and fill new application form and upload photo.
- Errors in the filled application form cannot be rectified after the initial application form has been verified by the college. The concerned college

Documents submitted to applying online
- The applicant should sign the printed initial application form in the prescribed space. Along with this application form, candidates have to submit the attested mark sheet of secondary and higher secondary/equivalent examination, attested copy of registration card and initial application fee of Tk 300/- (three hundred) to the concerned college within the stipulated time.
- The second part of the initial application form will be returned to the student with the signature and seal of the concerned College Principal/Teacher-in-Charge. All the candidates will get to know that the primary application form will be confirmed online by the concerned college through SMS on their mobile number.
